Buying an election 9/15/10

Wow.  AP is reporting Meg Whittman has just put another $15 million into her campaign fund.  This brings her total personal contributions in her attempt to become California governor to $119 million.  She wants that job something fierce!
In comparison, another top-of-the-heap rich American spent $109 million of his own money to gain re-election.  New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent what up till now was a record in his campaign.  He did not accept outside contributions.  Meg, however, is working quite diligently to raise funds from outside sources.  Interesting difference.
Isn’t Meg the one who didn’t even bother to start voting until recently?
Maybe she ‘had other priorities’.
(sound familiar?)
