Trump world in a panic – who will do the first ‘perp-walk’?

trump_apFriday came the news that the first indictment in the Mueller Russia investigation was approved by the Grand Jury, and sealed by a Federal judge. We may find out Monday who has the honor to do the first ‘perp-walk’ (we are going to do perp-walks, aren’t we Mr. Mueller? Please?).

The President is Tweeting as if his life depends on it, demanding the Republicans in Congress “DO SOMETHING” (all caps, to be sure they know he means it). He obviously sees the writing on the wall, and it says “Federal Prison”. So do many of his cohorts, who I suspect are working feverishly to cut a deal with Mr. Mueller.

Fox “News” is also freaking out, trying desperately to distract by again attempting to gin up something, anything, about Hillary Clinton. One guest has gone so far as to demand that someone, anyone!, investigate the “Clinton administration”. Maybe he’s from an alternate or parallel universe, where HRC won both the popular vote, as she did here, and the electoral college. I wouldn’t put it past Faux News to resort to such methods, were it possible. Newsflash Fox News talking head: Clinton is not President.

But, anyway…

Monday morning’s Tweet storm from the White House should be epic. (and that’s saying something for Monday morning Tweet storms from Hair Furor.) I’m sure it will be something about Hillary Clinton again, because… well, just because. My only regret is being on day shift now means I’ll miss the 3 am, Pacific time, furies, and will have to catch them in the few minutes I have between waking and getting to work. I hope I can keep up!

I’m betting the first to fall will be Manafort, but wouldn’t it be something if it were Kushner? Or 45 himself? We can only hope.

President Trump speaks at hate group rally

45In the Trump administration’s continuing war against the LGBT community, the President today spoke at the Value Voter’s Summit, becoming the first sitting President to do so.

The event was organized by the Family Research Council, a Southern Poverty Law Center designated hate group. It’s not easy to be added to that list, but the FRC has been there for some time, and maintains it’s status by their continued anti-LGBT activities.

At the “Summit”, a ‘swag bag’ given to attendees contained a flier promoting the 600 page book “The Health Hazards of Homosexuality”, published by Mass Resistance. They needed 600 pages to cover homosexuality, and included every false, outdated, disproved bit of nonsense they could dig up.  No comments about the health hazards of heterosexuality, but I assume they didn’t think they could sell that one, especially to their credulous readers. No part of the LGBT community is spared their attack, not even transgender children. Rather than support people experiencing the hatred and attacks by ill-informed “value voters”, they go after the most vulnerable of the community.

Almost every month since it’s came into office, the Trump administration has attacked the LGBT community. Whether it’s revoking guidelines for schools in dealing with transgender students, arguing in federal court that it’s completely OK to fire someone for being LGBT, or maintaining that religious belief trumps the civil rights of the LGBT community, this administration daily demonstrates that candidate Trump’s statement “as your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBT citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology,” clearly did not include hateful domestic ideology.

If this administration has any coherent plan, it’s only that they will try to undo anything done by or supported by President Obama. Donald Trump and his sycophants seem determined only to tear down the United States, and enrich themselves in the process. (Really, a personal flag for the Interior Secretary, flown above the building when he’s there? Monarchs do that. What does that tell you about this group?)

Trump has broken a barrier maintained by every previous President of the United States, and spoken while in office at a hate group sponsored event. He continues to show us his true colors in his administration’s continuing attacks of minority, and in particular LGBT, communities. (and it should be mentioned that he has done so consistently, from well before he ever seriously considered running for office. 62.9 million people voted for him anyway)

This President is running the United States as if it were the biggest “reality” TV show ever. His only concern is the ratings, and how much he can charge the Secret Service to rent golf carts at his properties. That he’s destroying it in the process doesn’t seem to register to him, at all.

US UN Vote: Death to gays OK

LGBTs-for-Trump-Associated-Press-640x479

On Friday, the United States sided with Botswana, Burundi, Egypt, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, China, India, Iraq, Japan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to vote against a resolution in the United Nations calling for nations to consider the standards by which they impose the death penalty. Included in the list of “crimes” punishable by death, homosexuality is included in some countries. Apparently, for the Trump administration, even thinking about removing the death penalty for being gay was a bridge too far.

The resolution passed anyway, even without the support of the United States. (I’m surprised Japan joined us in the ‘no’ vote. I’m not surprised with any of the others).

During the campaign, candidate Donald Trump claimed he would be the best candidate for the LGBT community. With his victory, that hasn’t translated into any forward movement for gay rights here. Indeed, the DOJ has reversed it’s stance about gay rights, and now tells the Federal Courts that it’s OK to discriminate against LGBT Americans in employment. With this vote Trump has demonstrated his promise certainly doesn’t include any actions to protect LGBT individuals around the world. The United States has abdicated it’s leadership role in many areas, now including the protection of the world’s gay communities.

A State Department spokesperson even flat out lied in a press conference, saying the resolution called for the banning of the death penalty in all cases. That’s not true, and stands next to “That was the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period. Both in person and around the globe.” This administration has a deep anathema to telling the truth. Trump can’t do it, and is a fine example of the real “trickle down” theory in action.

The reputation and leadership of the United States is being systematically destroyed by this administration, and it has serious, and potentially deadly, results.
